I started as a singer, making music before I was talking. Growing up in Los Angeles, I listened to the music of my mom and dad who were in a band together. My father was a member of Phil Spector’s “Wrecking Crew” who played guitar in his ‘Wall of Sound’ on hits such as ‘Da Do Ron Ron’ and ‘He’s a Rebel.’ After graduating from the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles with a major in voice, I became a session singer, working with songwriters who were pitching material to well known artists. I’ve toured as a musician across the country and won awards for songwriting. I currently perform regularly with my band, Rachel and the Ruckus (rachelandtheruckus.com).
“This dynamic group (Rachel & the Ruckus) has what it takes to stir up a rich and inviting line up of full throttle, in your face, out right damn good music.”~Sherryl Craig, Nashville Music Guide
On-camera work is so much fun! As a voice talent, understanding character development and utilizing acting skills is essential. On-camera work allows me to flex slightly different acting muscles than the ones used behind the microphone, including body movement and facial expressions. I love it!
